It is situated approximately 10 miles west of the City of Chicago, with easy access to public transportation. The village has an assortment of businesses and two universities: Concordia and Dominican.
Residents enjoy the preservation of open space and three miles of Cook County Forest Preserve trails that border the village. River Forest also provides plenty of green space with year round youth and adult programming.
